About Me

Seven years ago, we sold our family home in Berkshire and moved to our dream Georgian house in York.  We'd moved nine times in 14 years and for me and my love of period homes, it was decor heaven.  After years of being totally obsessed with thrift and charity shop bargain hunting, I started using Instagram for room styling shots and got so many ‘where did you get that?’ requests that I decided to write my own blog.

With a background in fashion retail including four years at Top Shop, followed by five years in estate agency, I set up my first online shop with Not On The High Street eight years ago selling interior homewares and shoppers.

I'm passionate about interior and home design.   I'm married to Joe and have three children - Ella, Max and Leo - and a Lhasa Apso named Buddy, all of whom are very badly trained :)

I love restyling my spaces and am passionate about decorating resourcefully, using what you have and incorporating vintage to create a home that works for you. I’m committed to the promotion of local, small businesses as well as how to scour the High Street for the perfect look at a minimum cost.

I was awarded Best Newcomer at the EKBB Influencer Awards and was shortlisted in the category of Best Newcomer in the Amara IBA's 2017.  In the September issue of Marie Claire I was listed in the Top 30 Power List 2017 and have been given the accolade of being a Marie Claire Verified Influencer. I was awarded Best Interior Influencer in the Northern Blog Awards 2018 and was a finalist in The Good Web Guide Awards 2020. I’ve recently been awarded Highly Commended in Interior Design Influencer category of the prestigious Vuelio Awards.

I regularly work and collaborate with brands for editorial and tailored workshops, primarily producing quality content for social media platforms and print publications. My book, Resourceful Living was published by Kyle Books in April 2021.
